The difference between EVs, hybrids, PHEVs and BEVs is mostly about whether the vehicle uses a motor or an internal combustion engine. For example, all-electric vehicles do not have an engine, instead they use a motor only. Plug-in hybrids, on the other hand, use a combination of a motor and a gas-powered engine. All of these configurations provide eco-friendly performance.

First, Ford offers an extensive dealership network, which includes over 2,400 EV-certified dealerships with service departments trained in EV maintenance -- and the training will continue! Ford offers EVs with established, trusted brand names that reflect the quality and engineering associated with those brands: F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E and E-Transit are all excellent examples. The Mustang Mach-E, which debuted in 2021, earned many accolades in its first year on the market, including Car and Driver 2021 EV of the Year and 2021 North American Utility of the Year™.

EV customers have access to the BlueOval™ Charge Network, the largest public charging network in North America, which offers conveniences such as the Plug & Charge automatic payment system available in the FordPass™ App.

Yes, the Ford F-150 Lightning has 1-Pedal Drive (1PD), which provides the maximum regenerative braking effect. Among the Selectable Drive Modes, Normal offers some regen effect and Sport increases the regen response. The resulting deceleration effect allows the driver to slow down faster than conventional vehicles when they release the accelerator pedal. With 1PD turned on, the driver can control the vehicle using just the accelerator pedal because the vehicle slows down quickly and can even come to a full stop without using the brake pedal.

The Mustang Mach-E features 1-Pedal Drive Mode, plus drivers can change the regenerative response with the three Drive Modes: Engage (normal), Whisper (light) and Unbridled (aggressive).

It is highly recommended. Preconditioning activates the cooling systems in the vehicle to bring a hot battery pack to a more favorable operating temperature. Owners should schedule preconditioning while the vehicle is plugged in, which uses power from the home rather than the vehicle battery.
